The "Zero Risk" Ingredient that Should Score Much Higher in the Cosmetics Database

We all love the Cosmetics Database.  It's a great place to get started learning about which chemicals to avoid in personal care products.  But in this case, an ingredient has slipped through the cracks.  It scores a "0" but should score much higher.  "Vegetable Emulsifying Wax" is widely used in "organic" and "natural" lotions and hair products.  Click here to find out what it's made of and why I'm telling everyone to avoid it.  I wrote this article originally as a guest blogger on Safemama.com.

Live Green
Our mailing list has now hit over 4000!  We are so excited to watch this little endeavor grow.  We thank each and every one of you for your support.

Last week we attended the Live Green Festival.  Thanks to everyone who came out to support us! The Mother's Day gift baskets we made specially for the festival were a hit.  We know you made some happy moms!

Steph at BeachAfter all our work at the festival we needed a break--so Steve and I pryed ourselves away from the computer (easier said than done) to take a little break.  We took the pups to Bear Lake for some sun and sand for the day on Sunday.  They loved running along the beach and swimming in the lake.  So did we!  It's a shallow warm lake that's perfect for just hangin' out and gettin' your feet wet.  We had our own private beach it seemed like. Just pulled the truck right up to the water and sat on the tailgate and ate lunch.  It was a much needed break.  To see more pics, become my friend on Facebook

The day at the lake was also a great way to test my sunscreen formulation again.  (The first test was at the festival).  It did a great job!  The only places I got burned were where I missed applying the sunscreen.)   In the meantime, check out my sunscreen recommendations here.
